The Origin-NS™ stem (NS/Neck Sparing) is a short, anatomically curved implant designed to both physiologically load the retained femoral neck as well as spare the abduction insertions on the greater trochanter.  As only the femoral head is resected there is minimal disruption to the normal load bearing architecture of the proximal femur. Limb lengths, offset and version restoration is facilitated by the unique design features of the implant. The stem is manufactured from Ti6Al4V alloy and is proximally titanium plasma spray + HA coated, for cementless fixation.

The stem is distally polished and has a sagittal plane cut-out to reduce implant stiffness to minimise the risk of distal stem pain.  A progressive proximal flare fills the intact ring of the femoral neck, resisting subsidence.
